Favourite Global Memory:

My Favourite Global memory was when we had our first global get together in September. This was my first time meeting the majority of the class as I was not originally an Innisdale student. Immediately we all bonded and it was like I had known my classmates for years.

Unexpected Lessons Learned from Global:

Global is full of so many new experiences and all of these crazy twists and turns. You begin to learn a lot about yourself as you experience a whole different version of school. The most unexpected lesson I learned was this new gear that I never knew existed. It is this mode you can go into where you can somehow get a crazy amount of work done in this super short amount of time. This extreme work mode is something that I am definitely going to utilize in gr 12 and university.

What Does Global Mean to You?

To me Global means so many different things. It is not only this program for a group of 28 super dedicated students, but it is this new family you are brought into. In this global family, all the members help each other out and teach each other so many new lessons. Even though it is only a semester-long, I felt that all of us grew individually and grew together as one connected group.

Why did you Apply to Global?

For the past couple of years, I had known a few people in the global classes. All I ever heard was good things about the program, everyone said how it was such a unique experience that you couldn’t get anywhere else. All my friends told me these crazy stories about the amount of work they did and all the fun times they spent travelling to Cuba and Europe. I knew that I had to take this incredible opportunity and apply to the program, even if I didn’t get accepted in, I had to at least try.

Describe Global in 3 Words:

Unique, Intense, Crazy

What did you enjoy most about online school?

Online school was a crazy experience. It was something I never thought I would end up doing. There were definitely ups and downs with this experience. I enjoyed that a lot of the online projects we got assigned had the chance to be done in our own sort of way, we could create them how we wanted. I also really enjoyed that I could do my work whenever I wanted, there was no specific time schedule I had to follow, as long as I completed everything on time.

Pandemics: The Effects on Global Economies

There are many different aspects that can tie our world together as one, and the global economy is one of these things that no matter who you are, where you live or what you do, we are all in some way affected by the economy. In this ISU, I go into detail about how pandemics affect our economies. This is demonstrated through 3 different case studies where I analyzed; how each pandemic affected the global economy, what nations learned from these pandemics, and how we are still struggling in the battle against such vicious viruses. Throughout this paper, the ripple effect that is created from pandemics is explained and demonstrated through the adverse effects that are incurred through the economy. In concluding this ISU I provide solutions that will aid in mitigating these effects during future viral outbreaks.
