Since the beginning of time, women have been seen as inferior to men. The systematic oppression of women affects the whole world and not only females. Suppressing women is suppressing half of the world’s potential. This ISU explores the importance of women’s rights and educating people around the world about gender equality. Following the history of the women’s rights movement, we are able to examine the core of this issue and identify the next steps we as a society need to take to achieve equality. A movement that started as a spark has turned into a wildfire that will not be put out until all women have the same rights and opportunities as their male counterparts.
