Favourite Global Memory:

My favourite Global memory was going to the Homestead bakery to practice vocals with Brett Caswell. I’m not a very artistic person so I wasn't really looking forward to singing with a large group of people. It turned out to be one of my favorite memories from global because I got to meet a lot of new people. Overall I feel like the group bonded together because of the experience.

Unexpected Lessons Learned from Global:

I think the most important lesson that I learned from global is to not be afraid to ask for help. At times to course can be very overwhelming especially if you're doing extracurricular activities so it's important to reach out to your friends, family, and teachers for help if you find yourself struggling. “Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength. It shows you have the courage to admit when you don't know something, and to learn something new.”~ Barack Obama

What Does Global Mean to You?

To me, global is a place to grow and learn more about yourself. It's a great time and place to make mistakes and be able to reflect on them to grow as a person.

Why did you Apply to Global?

I applied for global because the course material was something that was interesting to me. I had also been told by multiple people that the teachers and atmosphere of the course was very fun. Getting that sweet sweet 12 U credit a year early was also very important.

Describe Global in 3 Words:

Humorous, Chaotic, Family

What did you enjoy most about online school?

Probably the online debates because it was really fun to talk with people other than my family.

Exploitation of Amateur Athletes for Economic Gain

Becoming an athlete as a profession has become extremely popular in the last few decades. Some children will train their entire lives for a chance to make it pro in sports. The world for amateur athletes has changed drastically over the years. It used to be student first then athlete but it appears that it's nearly impossible to be a student-athlete and still be competitive. In this paper, I will look at how amateur athletes in countries all over the world are being exploited for the financial gain of others. I will examine the tactics that companies and universities use to take advantage of amateur athletes. Both those who have a chance of becoming professional athletes and those who have little chance.
