Favourite Global Memory:

My favourite Global memory was when out class took an after school “field trip” to Homestead Bakery to practice our vocals. The class really bonded over this experience and I met some of my best friends.

Unexpected Lessons Learned from Global:

An unexpected lesson that I learned from Global is that not everything can go as planned. Growing up as a perfectionist, I always strive to make everything perfect. This semester I learned that it is not always possible to have things go your way. Sometimes things can get messy and you will find yourself in difficult situations. Although, these situations can turn around and fall right into place with just a little bit of extra work.

What Does Global Mean to You?

To me Global means family. Over the past months I have bonded with my classmates both in and out of school. Coming from a different school I made many new friendships that I most likely would have never made if it was not for Global

Why did you Apply to Global?

I applied to Global to have the opportunity to learn in a way I never have before. I was excited to travel with my classmates and learn more about the world around me. Although in the end we were not able to travel abroad, I was pushed to learn at a faster pace than I was used to. Global has been full of opportunities to learn more about myself and try new things.

Describe Global in 3 Words:

Unforgettable, moving, & crazy

What did you enjoy most about online school?

I enjoyed being in control when it came to online school. I was able to pace myself with assignments and take breaks when needed. While working online I was able to work around my everyday schedule. It was very nice being able to spend more time with my family. Overall, online school forced me to learn and think in ways I never had before or thought I would ever have to.

Factory Farming: Destroying Our Society

Personally, animals have always played a big role in my life. To me, animals are innocent, loyal, and provide us with happiness and reassurance. I am sure many can agree with this simple statement. The truth is, animals are not always treated with the respect and care that they deserve, especially in the factory farming industry. This paper will take a look at two major issues that I feel are connected. One, how the abuse of animals in factory farms is undeniably cruel and we as humans should not stand for such torture as civilized individuals. As well as two, this torture (as witnessed in factory farming) is not only affecting these animals but humanity along with the earth. To go into depth I will provide statistics and case studies to enlighten you on this serious issue that is continuously turning our world upside down without us even realizing it. I am not here to persuade you to go vegan or to even think about it because I am not in any way a vegan and absolutely love a slice of good bacon with my breakfast or a burger at the neighbourhood barbeque. Rather, I would like to open up your eyes to how we can make smarter choices when it comes to animal by-products. Factory farming is undoubtedly a serious issue and the only ones that can stop it is us. Welcome to my paper on factory farming and how it is unrightfully destroying our society.
