Favourite Global Memory:
My favourite Global memory is from the SWAY religion presentations, specifically when we all went outside to dance for the Judaism presentation. The bell had just rung so the whole school watched us dance and pick someone up in a chair.
Unexpected Lessons Learned from Global:
Global taught me to have fun in school and appreciate school. Online school and quarantine is a lot harder to cope with than normal school, and missing out on the memories we were supposed to make in Global made me realize how much I miss it
What Does Global Mean to You?
Global to me means family. Not only have I learned a lot academically, but Global has helped me make friends and life-long memories. Although our time together was cut short, I do consider all my fellow classmates to be family.
Why did you Apply to Global?
I applied to Global because I wanted to learn more about the world and how other people live. Gaining a greater understanding of the world around me was very important to me. I was also excited about the opportunity to have big projects such as C2N and the Shaman, which you wouldn’t normally have the chance to do in normal school. The travelling aspect of Global also made me want to apply for this program.

What did you enjoy most about online school?
Although online school is very different from normal school, I enjoy having the flexibility to make my own schedule. I also like that I don’t have to wake up early and get ready.

Gender Equality: Where Do Women Fit In?
Since the beginning of time, women have been seen as inferior to men. The systematic oppression of women affects the whole world and not only females. Suppressing women is suppressing half of the world’s potential. This ISU explores the importance of women’s rights and educating people around the world about gender equality. Following the history of the women’s rights movement, we are able to examine the core of this issue and identify the next steps we as a society need to take to achieve equality. A movement that started as a spark has turned into a wildfire that will not be put out until all women have the same rights and opportunities as their male counterparts.
